Eugene Edwards Obituary

Woodruff, South Carolina Mr. Eugene Edwards, son of the late J. W. and Nellie Ruth Edwards, passed Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was a graduate of Woodruff High School. He was employed with Spartanburg Medical Center formerly Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and part time at Prisma Health. Eugene was a Giver. Willing to give to anyone or take the time to be a listener. He was a faithful caretaker of his brother Joe who recently transitioned, for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his Pittsburgh "Sixburg" Steelers win, along with his Golden State Warriors. He loved to have fun! He loved life! Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Eugene include his daughter, Tara (Michael Torrez) Hawkins of Wellford, SC and son, Tura L. Miller of Woodruff, SC; siblings, Janice (Keith) Talley of Duncan, SC, Larry Edwards of Woodruff, SC and Steve (Mary) Edwards of Siloam Springs, OK, four grandchildren; uncle, Uyless Moore of Piedmont, SC; aunts, Willie Mae Sullivan of Woodruff, SC, Ila Ruth Turner of Mauldin, SC and Sarah Drummond of Spartanburg, SC; along with a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie, Dennis and Joe Edwards. Funeral service will be Monday, June 23, 2025, 1:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the mortuary.
