Elizabeth Mason Harmon Obituary

Elizabeth "Lisa" Leigh Mason Harmon of Greenville, SC, passed away July 7, 2025, at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her five children. Lisa was born to Eula Mae Triplett and Ewell Edward Mason on April 15, 1955, in Augusta, GA while her family was living in Aiken, SC. She later lived in St. Louis, MO; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; and Greenville, SC. Lisa married Timothy Howard Harmon on March 2, 1979, and they enjoyed many years together until he passed away at home on January 4, 2021. Lisa was spectacular. She exemplified empathy, never hesitating to help a friend in need or pay for a stranger's groceries. She had a strong sense of fairness and always spoke her mind on political and social justice causes close to her heart. She was never afraid to be silly or embarrass her kids in a loving way. She had a great love of music, with some of her favorites being The Doors, Donovan, Moody Blues, and The Beatles. Throughout her life, Lisa showed acuity for an endless list of passions, including sewing, knitting, speed reading, swimming, tarot, and more. She worked as a tax professional for several years and honed her gardening skills in her retirement years. Lisa is predeceased by her husband, Timothy Howard Harmon, and older brother, Steve Mason. Left to cherish her legacy are her children, Michael Harmon (Raleigh, NC), Rebecca Lillard (Petersburg, IN), Leigh Harmon-Stern (Fairfax, VA), Mary Harmon (Chicago, IL), and Jeannie Harmon (Spartanburg, SC); four grandchildren, Ace Stern and Abbie Stern (Fairfax, VA); Nora Mark and Evie Mark (Chicago, IL); siblings, Pam Mason (Cleveland, OH), Susie Porter (Cleveland, OH), and John Mason (New York, NY); and her beloved cat,: Spooky, Sascha, Lil Mama, Tigger, Jasper, Double 0, and the rest of the neighborhood cats she cared for. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 26 at Lisa's home. Visitors may drop in at any time between 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Please contact the family for the address.
