Elizabeth Hightower Obituary

Elizabeth Rosetta Whilden Hightower, 81, passed away June 13, 2025. A native of Spartanburg County, a daughter of the late John and Virginia Messer Whilden; she was a homemaker; and a member of Oneal Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Monroe Hightower of the home; a daughter, Tina Malone (Doug) of Greer; a son, Jimmy Hightower of Greer; a brother, Richard Whilden of Roebuck; a sister, Patricia Campbell of Greer; a sister-in-law, Pat Williams of Greer; and four grandchildren, Joshua Malone, Chelsea Malone, Ethan Hightower and Eli Hightower. Elizabeth was predeceased by a son, Michael Wayne Hightower, a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hightower, and a brother, Dennis Whilden. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Keith Crowe and Rev. Joe Seay. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the mortuary. Pallbearers will be Eddy Cannon, Scott Wilbanks, Brian Whilden, Jamie Vaughn, David Poole and Hayden Poole. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will be at the home of Tina Malone.
