Elie Loyd Hebert, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this life on August 4, 2025, at the age of 89. Loyd was preceded in death by son, Randy Hebert; daughter, Michelle Houle; sister, Bertha; brother, Alfred; and parents, Rose and Elie Hebert. Born on February 18, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas, Loyd lived a full and remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. Loyd graduated at the top of his class from Lamar College in Beaumont, Texas, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering. With unwavering dedication and passion, he went on to earn his Professional Engineer (PE) license, building a distinguished career in the plastics industry where he secured patents that showcased his creativity and innovation. Known for his unique ability to take on any project, Loyd's creativity knew no bounds; he was always in pursuit of the next great adventure or invention. As a lifelong Catholic and a devoted member of Prince of Peace, Loyd's faith anchored his life. He cherished and celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirdale Hebert. Together they nurtured a loving family, including daughters, Melinda Guy (Steve); Melanie Snyder (Frank); Kim Hebert (Randy); and sons, Kevin Hebert (Melissa); and David Hebert (Nicola). Loyd took immense pride in his family, leaving behind a legacy of love that includes 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, many of whom he took on countless "maneuvers," adventures filled with laughter and cherished memories. Loyd's creativity and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed, and his unique presence in our lives will forever remain. In this time of sorrow, we reflect on the joyful memories, and the indelible mark Loyd left on our hearts. May he rest in peace. A celebration of Loyd's life will be planned for a future date.
