Doris Sinclair Obituary

Doris Sinclair Inman, SC Doris Louise Dilworth Sinclair, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Greenville, SC she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Annie Belle Cape Dilworth. She is survived by the one and only love of her life, Willie "Tom" Thomas Sinclair. They married on June 24, 1967, and lived a life full of faith, family and fun. She graduated from Wren High School in 1964 and from Greenville General School of Nursing in 1967. After earning her Registered Nurse certification, she joined her husband at RAF Bentwaters England for a 3-year honeymoon and had two children. She was previously employed at several hospitals in North and South Carolina, including Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and she retired from South Carolina DHEC Home Health Services. Doris was a member of Church at the Mill for over 30 years. During that time she was an active member of her Sunday School class which was officially named the Empty Nesters, but more fondly referred to as "The Falling Apart Class". It was with this small group that she formed devoted friendships over the years with fellow Christians who became like family. Survivors also include a son, Chuck Sinclair and wife, Hanne; a daughter, Karen Halt and husband, Bryan; a brother, Don Dilworth and wife, Fran; a sister, Diane Dilworth; eight grandchildren, Adam Sinclair, Jack Sinclair, Michael Sinclair, Hannah Halt, David Halt, Ellie Halt, Steven Rega and Andrea Rega. Doris leaves behind her beloved Cavapoo, Punkin, who for five years was a constant companion and source of joy. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Robert Dilworth. Doris was a gifted registered nurse with a true servant's heart. She treated her patients with respect, dignity and true compassion. Once she retired, she used her gift to serve her friends and family with the same level of care she gave her patients. Her career of loving and caring for her patients was rewarded in the last months of her life when Kimberly Najera became her caregiver and companion. Kimberly's dedication to Doris helped the family keep her at home in the final months of her life. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on May 1, 2025, at Stribling Funeral Home, Duncan, SC. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on May 2, 2025, at Church at the Mill Chapel, Moore, SC with Dr. DJ Horton, Rev. Gene Pace and Rev. Asheton Amerson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Greater" Fund at Church at the Mill.
