Donald Weathers Obituary

Don Weathers Greer, SC Donald Lee Weathers, 79, passed away on October 26, 2025. Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas and Etta Mae Owens Weathers and was the loving husband of Jennie Godfrey Weathers. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army, where he served as a combat engineer and was retired from Homelite/John Deere after thirty-five years. Don was a member of Selma Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed his large garden, which he would happily share with his family and friends, being outside on his farm where he could be found messing with his cows and tinkering with his tractors. Survivors also include his daughter, Jan Henson and husband, Brian; a son, Christopher Weathers; two brothers, Johnny "JB" Weathers and Bobby Weathers; a sister, Louise Giles; his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Hannah Grace Henson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Henry Weathers, Willie Weathers and Maxie Weathers; and four sisters, Ruby Hughes, Cathy Coleman, Mary Crawford and Sharon Porter. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Selma Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Smith, Rev. Fred Quidley and Rev. Bob Finley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until 2:30PM prior to the service. Interment will be held at Abner Creek Baptist Church.
