Deborah Patton Obituary

Deborah Jean Patton was born in Charlotte, NC on October 1st, 1953 to the late Grace Elizabeth McDonald and late R. Emmett Patton. She joined our Lord and Savior on July 24th 2025. She lived an exciting life full of adventure, passion and love. Being deeply patriotic, she passed down a deep respect for all branches of the military, first responders, and values of honor, service, and love of country. Among the many milestones of her well-lived life, Deborah was a published author, sharing political editorials and columns. She proudly served as a volunteer in many capacities for local, national and international causes. Most notably, traveling overseas and serving our Country as a civilian volunteer during 'Dessert Storm' in which she actively supported and fed our troops in the field plus assisted in evacuating civilian families in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. She also served with the USO on several other military bases in the continental US and Japan. She will always be remembered for living a life in service to God and County along with her bold spirit, her devotion to family, and many lessons she shared of respect, gratitude, and pride in the nation she loved so dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of love and countless cherished memories. She is survived by her son, Robert Jones, his husband, Chris and their son Kayden; her daughter, Christine Ramsey; her former husband, Brad Choate, plus many other friends and family whom she loved deeply. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home. Friends and family will gather following the service in the parlor to share memories, pay respects, and celebrate the life of a woman who was truly and completely, one of a kind.
