David Gambrell Obituary

David Ellis "Diamond Dave" Gambrell, 78, passed away August 21, 2025. A native of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late Ralph Carlos and Mary Jeanette Long Gambrell, he served in the S.C. Army National Guard, was a retired firefighter for the City of Greer, and a member of Greer First Baptist. Surviving are a son, Richard Gambrell (Kelly) of Mill Spring, North Carolina; three brothers, Steven Gambrell (Elizabeth), Gerald Gambrell, and Danny Gambrell all of Greer; and a granddaughter, Ginny of Mill Spring, North Carolina. He was predeceased by a son, Craig Gambrell and two sisters-in-law, Linda Gambrell and Marie Gambrell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Tony Stewart. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at their respective homes.
