Born on December 10, 1942, in
Elberton, Georgia, Jeanette carried the warmth and hospitality of her Southem roots throughout her entire life. She was the cornerstone of her family; known best for her generous spirit and the way she made everyone feel welcome at her table.
A Life of Faith and Family
Jeanette was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church while raising her family. She was currently a devoted member of Sans Souci Church where she enjoyed worshiping with her friends and family. Her faith was the guiding light of her life, and she found great joy and fellowship within her church community. Nothing, however, compared to the love she held for her family. Jeanette was a master in the kitchen, and her home was the heart of countless family gatherings. She took immense pride in hosting meals, ensuring that no one ever left her presence hungry or unloved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the absolute lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent watching her legacy grow.
Family Legacy
Jeanette is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Knight, who passed away on April 18, 2006. She leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry her memory forward:
Her Sons: Wayne (Jan) Knight, Darrell (Renee) Knight, and Dale Knight.
Her Grandchildren: Justin (Annie) Knight, Dallas (Samantha) Knight, Baylee (Logan) Wilson, Dalton (Kelsey) Knight, Walker (Kynleigh) Knight, Madelyn Knight, and Garrett Knight.
Her Great-Grandchildren: Dallas was the proud grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored dearly.
"Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verses, filled with kindness, service, and a deep, enduring love for those she called her own."
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest SC. The family will be at the home of Walker and Kynleigh Knight. In her memory, Jeanette would likely ask that you gather your own loved ones, share a meal, and hold them a little closer today.
