Dahlia Sherfield Obituary

Dahlia Jeanette Sherfield, 93, widow of Harold Sherfield passed away peacefully Friday, February 6, 2026 at her home in Simpsonville.

Born in Cherokee Township in Spartanburg County, SC on April 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd Turner and Emma Leona Turner. Jeanette dedicated her life to Christ, her family, and helping others as she did throughout her career as a Registered Nurse at The School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg.

She was a faithful supporter of The House of Refuge Church of God in Abbeville, SC.

"A devoted servant of Christ", her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and her unwavering faith in God. She was a devoted Mother, Sister, Granny and Nini. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Her commitment to her family was a source of strength to us all as she was always there to share the love of Jesus, to offer a prayer, a word of encouragement, or just to make someone smile, reminding us all to continue to grow, learn and never cease to share the love of Christ and to love one another!

We will miss her physical presence, warm hugs, beautiful smile, and wise advice, but as believers in Jesus Christ, we "do not sorrow as those who have no hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

Jeanette has finished the race, kept the faith, and is now, without a doubt hearing the words: "Well done good and faithful servant; enter into the Kingdom of your Father forever." (Matthew 25:23)

She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Sherfield, 3 sisters, Elizabeth (Lib) Bailey, Joann Massingale and Barbara Jean Lancaster, 1 brother, Donnie Turner and 1 son W. Gary Sherfield.

Jeanette is survived by her two children, Terry L. Sherfield (Frankie), daughter Carol Harris (David); 3 sisters, Linda T. McDowell, Vickie T. Harrelson and Terrie Turner; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service officiated by Bishop Terry Sherfield and Bishop Scott Sherfield will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 1:00pm at The Good Shepherd Memorial Park at 4164 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
