We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Cynthia Diane Medlin Kallenbach, who left us on January 25, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on March 10, 1960, in
Greenville, SC, Cindy lived a life filled with love and laughter, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Cindy was a proud graduate of Southside High School, Class of 1978. She found her soulmate, Richard Charles Kallenbach, while working at J.P. Stevens, and they married on Valentine's Day in 1981. Together, they built a beautiful life until Richard's untimely passing after a heart attack on January 27, 2002. After years of longing for little ones, they were blessed with two wonderful children, Tenisha and Kase, who brought immense joy to her life.
She spent much of her career working at the Parker Plant and later joined her sister, Debbie, at Opperman Webbing. Cindy had an incredible sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could brighten the dullest day. Known for her generosity and kindness, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, always presenting her authentic self to those around her.
Cindy had a special love for plants, particularly morning glories and the cheerful dandelions and daisies of spring. She was crafty, enjoyed drawing, and baked the most delicious brownies that will be sorely missed. Her love for Richard remained unwavering, and she looked forward to the day they would be reunited.
She is survived by her daughter, Tenisha Kallenbach and her life partner, Don Reid; son, Kase Kallenbach and his wife Mariah; two sisters, Debbie Mahaffey and Betty Phillips; a brother, Wayne Medlin; two adored grandchildren, Richard Kase Kallenbach and Bailey Corrianne Miller; along with a wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and members of the Kallenbach Family.
In addition to her beloved husband, Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Medlin; mother, Sarah Medlin; and sister, Cheryl Worthen.
Cindy's family will receive friends at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
