I first met Sonny when we worked on the Sphinx yearbook staff at the Citadel. He was the sports editor and was always upbeat and just a joy to be around. Never missed a deadline!
My one fond memory of him was at a tailgate and I had asked him a question about tithing. The question I was struggling with: "Was it best to tithe on Nest Or Gross of your salary" Without any hesitation, his answer was, "Do you want to be blessed on Net or Gross" I took his advice and will always remember his wise counsel.
Based on the many responses I have received from his classmates, I know Sonny is being blessed by the Lord on his ministry to his church, his friends, and his classmates.
He will be missed!

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Sonny's family. Sonny was a wonderful preacher in those days at First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. He also baptized me and my children, a wonderful experience I will never forget. You are now in the presence of our Lord. May you rest in peace. I know you will be missed. He had such a wonderful spirit.
