Cathy Tew Obituary
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Cathy Tew on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the age of 69. Cherished wife, devoted mother and grandmother, faithful friend, and "second mom" to many.
Cathy's unforgettable laughter, contagious smile, kindness, deep strength, eternal optimism, and unwavering love touched every soul she encountered. To know her was to love her and to be loved. She was truly an angel on earth and a bright light to everyone she met.
Her favorite times were spent with her friends and family, especially on the beach, usually dancing, laughing, and truly loving life.
Cathy fiercely loved her family. Her husband Stan was the love of her life; and her children, Stephanie, David, Jen, and grandson, Noah, were her greatest joys. She also leaves behind her brother, Roger Lusk who always kept her laughing and amplified her joyous love for life, along with his wife Deborah, and nieces and nephews.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Paul and Ruby Lusk. And in the words of Ruby, they are "dancing on the clouds" now.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the Celebration of Cathy's Life at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Cathy left way too soon. For now, we can take comfort in knowing she is with the God she knew and loved deeply, riding on the clouds with her loved ones. We know that she is happy and carefree, and we will meet her in heaven someday soon. Until then, we all hold her spirit close and lean on God's grace to carry us through.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3: 5-6
