Carole Womack Obituary
Carole Joan Womack left us peacefully and comfortably on September 5, 2025, to be eternally with our Lord. Under the tender care of Gentiva Home Hospice, Carole survived and passed in her home in Taylors, SC. Experiencing many true miracles, she survived colon cancer, a few heart attacks and a stint, open heart surgery and a double bypass, plus Acute Covid Pneumonia. Carole could not overcome the ravages of Alzheimer's/ Dementia and a serious fall. Carole is survived by her loving husband Don; three daughters Marie, Laurie and Lindy; and two grandsons, Chris and Evan. She left behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other family, primarily in California, Washington and Massachusetts. Carole was predeceased by her parents, John Quincy Barbour and Mary Louise Fickle. She was predeceased by her brothers, Warren Boswell, Barry Boswell, Bill Boswell and John Barbour, her sisters Mary Lou Schroder and Virginia McGuire. Carole and her brother John saw a need and filled it by starting "Feed the Need" food ministry, which grew to the point they could barely keep up. This ministry was passed to Living Branch Ministries in Taylors, SC and is still functioning well as Living Bread. Carole will be remembered as a professional performer, singer, friend and giver. Our loss is Heavens Gain. In 1976, after 20 years of training and performing with Zippy, the TV Chimp. Carole started Alfie Cockatoo and His Comedy Macaws. Carole and Don took Alfie all over North America and more performing at such venues as: The Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto; "Fantastico" in Caracas, Venezuela; Six Flags over Georgia; The Iowa State Fair; Virginia State Fair; Sport Shows in San Juan, Puerto Rico; SC State Fair in Columbia, SC; The Super Bowl pre-game event in Tampa Fla; and the Grand Re-opening of Hill's Department Stores in various states. Her last show was in 2007, with her Parrots being donated to an Animal Preserve in 2015. Carole loved animals and they loved her. Carole was very capable of "Fancy Dress", but she choose comfortable and casual. Come as you are to honor her merely with your presences. Memorial service will be held 4:00 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel in Greer, SC. Carole's favorite was yellow roses, but we ask that you consider donations to the Living Branch Living Bread Ministry, 4007 Locust Hill Road, Taylors, SC 29687. Flowers are beautiful for a while, but a donation in Carole's name and memory lasts forever. Online condolences may be made to www.thewoodmortuary.com.
