Carole Craft Obituary

Carole Duncan Craft, 86, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Craft for 65 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2025. A native of Greer, SC, born on March 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William Oliver and Mary Evelyn Duncan. Carole lived a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and friendship. She loved her family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her Banna. She was the proud mother of Cathy Neely (Jeff) and Banna to six grandchildren, Jonathan Neely (Katy), Laura Beth Comer (Blake), Meredith Payne (Wellington), Jeffrey Neely, Joseph Neely (Molly), and Caroline Gendi (John), as well as twelve cherished great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. Carole was a lifelong member of Greer First Baptist Church, where she lived out her strong and enduring faith. She was known for her servant's heart, kind spirit, and the way she quietly and consistently cared for those around her. Her life reflected grace, strength, and steadfast devotion to the Lord. A hardworking and loyal professional, Carole spent over 60 years with B.A. Bennett Insurance Agency and retired from County Bank in 2021. She approached her work with diligence and pride, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike throughout the Greer community. Carole was also an amazing cook, her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and delicious meals lovingly prepared. Her sense of humor and infectious smile could light up any room, and her beauty, both inside and out, touched everyone who knew her. She was a devoted friend who always found time to listen, laugh, and love well. A celebration of Carole's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday October 30, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Doug Mize, Rev. Blake Comer, and Jeff Neely. Webcasting will be available at www.thewoodmortuary.com. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
