CAROL TUCK Obituary

Carol C. Tuck (nee Coolidge) loving mother of Warren Tuck (Ramona), and Heather Tuck-Macalla (Eric); grandmother of Miles, Kaleigh, Ryleigh, Hannah, Garrett, Brandon, and Stephen; sister of Diane Loubier; life partner of Jim Olson.

Carol grew up in Packanack Lake New Jersey and later moved to Ft.Lauderdale Florida with her family in high school. She was a a competitive swimmer winning many races and awards. Swimming in Packanack Lake with her friends was one of her fondest memories.

She enjoyed being socially active and being a servant leader. While living in Bay Village in the 1970s' and 80's she was active in the Jaycee wives, and worked on bringing the Knickerbocker Senior Apartments to fruition. While raising her children at Dover Congregational Church she served as a Sunday School Teacher, assisted refugees and played in the bell choir. She volunteered and worked for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as a poll worker and later worked on processing vote by mail ballots. She took great pride in being part of the electoral process. While living in Rocky River she was very active in the Rocky River Kiwanis Club and served as their first ever female club president. She helped lead a number of Kiwanis projects and served in district leadership roles as well. She was also a long time member of the Rocky River Public Library Foundation. Many knew her as the proprietor of the White Cottage and Lamp Shoppe in Antique Row where she also practiced the tradition of caning chairs, bringing many family heirlooms back to life.

She was an independent woman who loved the outdoors. She would tow the family camper out of state by herself with her children, sharing the love of nature and visiting old friends in New Jersey. Later in life she enjoyed being in walking clubs in the Metroparks and staying active and socializing at the Rocky River Recreation Center where she had many friends. When she passed she was surrounded by family sharing favorite camping memories and dreams of where to go next.
