Carlene Sheriff Obituary
Duncan, SC
Carlene Anne Brockman Sheriff, 80, of Duncan, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the cherished daughter of the late Carlyle Landrum and Loree Page Brockman.
She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Bruce "Allen" Sheriff, her only son, Bryan Allen Sheriff, and his wife, Diana. Her three grandsons-Payne Allen Sheriff, Bryan "Fisher" Sheriff, and Rhett Jackson Sheriff-were her greatest blessings, bringing her immeasurable joy and happiness in every moment they shared together.
She is also survived by her brother, Barry Brockman (Beth), her sister, Susan Brockman Hawkins, and her sister-in-law, Jackie Floyd. Carlene was predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Shelby Hendrix and Nancy Byars as well as her brothers-in-law, PeeWee Hawkins, James Hendrix, Allen Byars, and George Floyd.
Carlene was a dedicated educator, teaching 8th grade English at Fairforest Middle School for 30 years. After retiring, Carlene continued to share her passion for teaching by mentoring student teachers at North Greenville University, a role she cherished and enjoyed.
Carlene was a life long member of Sharon Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and in various other capacities.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 11 at Sharon Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45pm, with the service to follow at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Sheriff was my 7th and 8th grade English teacher (`70 - `71).She was a great teacher and was very tolerant of our " jr. high shenanigans".
She was one of many District Six teachers who had a great influence on me.
