Brandon Shelton Obituary

Brandon Malik Shelton was born on June 10, 1998 in Spartanburg South Carolina, to Kressee Shelton and Brian Mark Shelton, I. From the very beginning Brandon carried a special light that touched everyone privileged to know and love him. Raised in a home built on faith, strength, and family Brandon's life was filled with meaning and purpose. Educated in the Spartanburg County School System Brandon graduated from Dorman High School in 2016. Eager to grow and expand in knowledge, Brandon enrolled at Spartanburg Community College to further explore talents and interests. Music was more than a passion. It was an expression of soul. Through smooth R and B melodies and expressive rap lyrics, Brandon spoke truth told stories and shared emotion with sincerity and creativity. Whether in front of a microphone or behind the scenes, Brandon used music as a reflection of heart and mind. Sports brought great joy. Brandon was an enthusiastic fan of basketball with unwavering support for the Boston Celtics. He also loved baseball and followed the St. Louis Cardinals with loyalty and pride. The color blue was a favorite reflecting calm strength and quiet confidence. Known for a strong will, warm presence, and generous spirit; kindness defined his character and friendliness which opened doors to lasting relationships. Brandon was preceded in death by grandmother, Dorothy M Shelton; grandfather, Willie L. Sartor and brother, Antwan "Lil B" Wells. Cherishing every memory and honoring a beautiful life are parents, Brian and Kressee Shelton of Spartanburg SC; brothers, Brian Mark Shelton, II and Braxton Marquis Shelton of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Briana Shelton and Brittney Shelton of Spartanburg, SC; grandmother, Judy Lowery of Spartanburg, SC; aunts, Yavette Davis, Erreeyal (Melrose) Smith, and Claressa Shelton all of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Anthony (Claudary) Shelton of Raleigh, NC; niece, Brentley Styles; and a host of cousins, extended family and dear friends. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Brandon's earthly journey came to a close at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Though the time was brief, the impact was profound. A life marked by creativity, laughter, loyalty, and love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in the gift of Brandon's presence.
