Blaine Penick Obituary

Blaine Murphy Penick, 92, husband of the late Jo Ann Penick, passed away Saturday October 11, 2025. Born in Mt. Zion, KY, he was the son of the late Ralph and Maggie Murphy Penick. Blaine was an exemplary Aircraft Mechanic with a profound love for tinkering and fixing things, a passion that stemmed from his 23 years of military service with the United States Air Force. His commitment to his craft and his country was matched only by his devotion to his beloved wife, with whom he shared a wonderful marriage of 60 years. Blaine's zest for life was evident in his love for the great outdoors. He cherished every moment spent at the lake, where he engaged in various water sports, from fishing to water skiing and boating. He was a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR. His spirited enthusiasm for these teams brought joy to many - "Don't ya think?" He is survived by son-in-law, Walter Scott; grandchildren, Justin Garner (Rubeth), Kelon Blaine Penick (Deidra), and Hunter-Paige Maccorkle (Drew); great-grandchildren, Kelon Blaine, and Naide Jo Penick, and Iris Tyner (Penick), and Nyla Jade, Hartley Mae, and Banks Art Maccorkle. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Blaine Penick; and daughter, Donna Penick Scott. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, followed by the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West.
