Betty Turner Obituary

Betty Cantrell Turner was born on August 23, 1959, in Anderson County, South Carolina to Mr. Bobby Lee Henry, Sr. and Mrs. Norma Jean Davis Henry. On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Betty quietly escaped the troubles of the world, leaving an eternal void in the hearts of all who encountered her sweet and loving spirit. Betty was raised in the communities of Anderson and educated in local schools as well, reaching the pinnacle of her educational journey upon receiving her diploma. Following the completion of her education, she immediately entered the workforce by way of the textile and manufacturing industry with a singular goal in mind– creating a better life for herself and those whom she loved. Betty was an absolutely dynamic woman throughout the course of her life, known to all as a beautiful and welcoming person. However, what she would likely deem most important and above all else, is that she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her family was the center of her world, and they will undoubtedly miss her comforting presence. When she was not spending time with her family, she could be found attending and serving faithfully down through the years at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church; she was unwavering to the end. She was a simple woman who loved life, and often expressed it artistically. You could regularly find Betty drawing, painting, and even writing songs! And truly, it is all of these wonderful, beautiful, and special things about her that will make her absence felt perpetually. Betty was preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter, Ms. Sherlene Blanding; a granddaughter, Ms. Margaret Danielle Blanding; and a brother-in-law, Mr. Sam Rawlinson. Those left behind to continue her indelible legacy of love are her husband, Mr. David Lee Turner; her children, Ms. Debra Henry and Mr. Jamie Henry; 10 beautiful grandchildren whom were the apple of her eye; and her brothers, Mr. Bobby Henry, Jr. and Mr. Preston Henry. Also left behind are family members: Luree Rawlinson, Dennis (Mary) Turner, LeTroy (Latasha) Blanding, LeTrey (Kiesha) Blanding, Mary Smith, and Bobby (Mamie) Clinkscales; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close relatives and friends, all of whom will need your prayers in the coming days, weeks, months, and even years as they learn to cope with such a terrible loss.
