Betty Copeland Brock, 83, beloved wife of the late Thomas "Jack" Brock, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Born in Brunswick, Georgia, Betty graduated from Glynn Academy in 1959. Not long after, she met and married Jack Brock, and together they shared more than 60 beautiful years of love, laughter, and partnership. To many who knew them, "Jack and Betty" was said as if it were one name, they were truly inseparable.
In 1962, Betty became "Mama," a role she filled with grace, patience, and unconditional love. She served as the family's medic, referee, cleaner, driver, coach, counselor, and finder of all things missing. Above all, she was a loving mother at the end of every day. After raising three boys (and, in her words, "raising Jack too"), she found joy in watching her sons marry and begin families of their own. With the arrival of her grandchildren, she embraced the role of "Grandma" - and in that role, all rules ceased to apply. She was a soft place to land, a source of endless comfort, and a master of spoiling.
In addition to her years working at Tolly Furniture, Betty also worked alongside Jack at Taste of Distinction in Powdersville creating wonderful meals and cultivating friendships.
She was a faithful member of Berea First Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class. Betty was the steady hand behind making sure her boys were in church and at camp, long before others saw its value, she knew how vital it was for her family to be rooted in faith.
Betty's life was defined by her love for her family, her devotion to the Lord, and her unwavering commitment to the people she loved. Her legacy will continue in the lives she touched and the family she raised.
Betty is survived by her sons, Gary Brock (Julie), Duane Brock (Diana), and Jay Brock (Elizabeth); a brother, Joe Copeland (Linda); grandsons, Braden Brock (Anna), Riley Brock (Heather), and Payton Brock; and granddaughters, Ashton Culpepper (Mark), Isabella Brock, Sara Beth Brock, and Molly Brock; great grandchildren, Millie Jo and Lynnlee Ruth Brock, Miller and Wren Culpepper; and Manning Jack Brock.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to NHC Mauldin for the love and care shown to Betty. The staff there were truly heroes in her final chapter, and their compassion will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Mountain View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Rd.
