Rev. Belvin Hughes
WOODRUFF- Rev. Belvin Hughes,92, of 936 Miller Road went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was born December 25, 1932, in Enoree to the late Herbert Julius Hughes and Nancy Hall Hughes Barnette. He was the widower of Mae Cudd Jones Hughes and was first married to the late Mary Nellie Clevenger Hughes. Rev. Hughes was a Church of God pastor and pastored for over 28 years serving several churches in South Carolina and New Mexico. He was a member of Greer Church of God. He was a retired engineer with J.P. Stevens and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his sons, Rev. James Hughes (Martha) of Erwin, Tennessee, Ronald Hughes (Joanne) of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Anthony Hughes (Denise) of Fort Lawn, South Carolina; two sisters, Lavonda Stonell of Enoree and Sylvia Bell of Sumter; 9 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Alton Hughes.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Enoree Church of God officiated by his son, Rev. James Hughes and grandson, Rev. Jamie Hughes. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Enoree Church of God, 113767 Hwy. 221, Enoree, S.C. 29335.
