Becky Mattis Obituary

Becky Lynn Mattis was born on October 16, 1961, in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Sally Ann Crossman Mattis and the late George Mattis. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Tech Memorial High School in Erie and went on to build a successful career, retiring as a computer analyst with the Erie Pennsylvania School System.
Becky had a heart full of love, especially for her children, grandchildren, and beloved dogs. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-gardening and her passion for flowers, storm watching (always keeping her family informed of weather alerts), and bowling. A devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan, Becky also cherished shopping, soaking up the sun-especially during her time in St. Petersburg, Florid and enjoying precious moments with her family.
She was known for her vibrant spirit, her love of bright pastel colors, and her signature comfort style of flannels and sweats. Her warm sense of humor, and kind heart made her a beloved figure in every circle she graced.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothe,r Rex Alan Adam; and her stepdaughter, Meagan Bree Askounes.
Left to honor her legacy are her loving husband, Gary L. Askounes of the home; daughters, Lauren (Robert) Morris of Sugar Valley, GA, Stephanie (Michael) LaValle of Boiling Springs, SC, and Ashley (Brian Brock) Boltz of Greer, SC; sister, Debbie White of St. Petersburg, FL; uncle, David (Lori) Crossman of Erie, PA; cherished grandchildren, Kali Boltz, Devin LaValle Aubree LaValle, Kaylin Boltz, Hailey LaValle, and Wyatt Rogers; one great-grandchild on the way nephew; Jason White; lifelong best friends, Charlie Young and Dawn Szocki; the father of her children, Douglas Boltz; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Becky transitioned peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
