Audrey Cheek Obituary

Audrey H. Cheek, 99, beloved wife of the late Holman Freeman Cheek, Jr., peacefully passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was born in Mount Olive, NC, and a daughter of the late Major and Betty Owens Holmes.

Mrs. Cheek was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Sanders (Al) and Sandra Amick; three grandchildren, Nathan McCall, Brandy McCall, and A.J. Sanders; four great-grandchildren, Anna McCall, Ryan McCall, Jacob McCall, Gavin McCall, and Huntley Sanders; and great-great-grandchild, Marshall McCall. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family will remember her fondly.

In addition to her parents and husband, Audrey was preceded in death by her five sisters, Winnie Kennedy, Laura Mae Foss, Betty Jean Foss, Loccie Ruth Turner, Minnie Whitley; and four brothers, Drifty Holmes, Dan Holmes, Clayton Holmes, and Leroy Holmes.

A private graveside service will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Piedmont, SC.
