Reverend Jack Carroll Obituary

Reverend Jack Wallace Carroll, a stalwart of faith and a beacon of dedication, departed this earthly realm on July 29, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 6, 1931, Jack's life was a testament to hard work, service, and unwavering devotion to God and his community. He leaves behind an enduring legacy that will be cherished by many who had the honor of knowing him.  Jack was a loving husband and father who made many sacrifices to all, including working three jobs occasionally to be able to take his family on many memorable vacations and making sure they were able to go to church camp every year.

Having proudly served as a Sergeant First Class in the Army's Airborne Infantry Company 1st Battalion 503 "The Rock," Jack embodied courage and discipline. His military service ingrained in him a sense of duty that he would carry forth into all other areas of his life. Following his honorable discharge, he thrived in the corporate world, dedicating 35 years to General Electric, where his commitment and work ethic were unmatched. Yet, it was in the ministry that Jack truly found his calling.

A man deeply rooted in his faith, Jack commenced his Christian journey in 1954, laying the foundation for what would become a lifetime of service to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1960, he began his ministry journey, and by 1963, he had founded a storefront mission, marking the inception of his pastoral leadership. Jack had the profound ability to touch lives, serving as minister for four local churches in Kentucky and assisting in the ministry of two additional congregations. His influence extended far beyond the pulpit; he mentored countless individuals, guiding them along their own spiritual paths—the seeds of his guidance blossoming in myriad ways within the community.

Jack was not merely a serious man of strong conviction but was also imbued with kindness and an innate love for people. He carried an aura that mingled strength with sensitivity, encapsulated in his remarkable determination and humility. Those who encountered him found solace in his steady support and profound compassion; he was, above all, a courageous man whose faith inspired others to reach higher and strive for more.

As we gather to honor Jack's memory, we will remember his devotion and earnest spirit. A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Louisville on August 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (for family), followed by a graveside service at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Fort Knox at 12:30 PM. Following the graveside service for Jack, a church service will be hosted by River of Life Church, 23491 Dixie Highway, gathering time starts at 1:30pm with a celebration of Jack's life beginning at 2pm with a reception to follow with an opportunity to tell about a memorable story of how he had impacted to your life.

In this quiet contemplation of his life, we reflect on a man who walked closely with God, tirelessly shared his faith, and dedicated his life to helping others find their paths. Jack Wallace Carroll's journey has come to rest, but his impact and love will echo in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in his life. He left an eternal rich legacy. Those who knew him, knew he was a man who loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John James and Ethel Inez Lewis Carroll and his daughter, Deborah Sue Carroll.

Jack leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 71 years, whom he was devoted to the very end, Eva Mae Robitaille Carroll; children, Reverend Charles Allen (Jan) Carroll, Rebecca Ann (Mike) Madden and Janetta Carroll; grandchildren, Angela (Lee) Stewart, Anna (Randall) Powell, Paul (Kim) Radford, Michelle Carroll, Michael (Abegail Ara) Carroll, Tommy Krages and Shelby (Dustin) Gross and great-grandchildren, Abigaile, Gavin, Shaun, Zenaida, Charlie and Quinn.

Flowers can be accepted at River of Life Church, 23491 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY on Thursday, August 7, 2025 and Friday, August 8, 2025.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to River of Life Church in Jack's memory.
