Andrew Szabo Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew Szabo, beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this world on February 15, 2026. Born on May 14, 1957, in Hungary, Andrew lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his family and his work as a Facilities Operating Engineer in Midtown, Manhattan.

Andrew's journey took him from Middle Village in Queens, New York, where he nurtured his family and built cherished memories, to Simpsonville, South Carolina, just two years ago. It was in South Carolina that he sought to be closer to the serene beauty of Hilton Head Island, a place that brought him much joy.

Andrew will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Roseann Szabo, and his two sons, Joseph and Michael Szabo. He found immeasurable happiness in spending time with them, particularly on the soccer field, where laughter and camaraderie flourished.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

As we reflect on his life, we remember a man who embodied strength, compassion, and dedication. May he rest in peace and be forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
