Deacon Rivers attended the local public schools of Beaufort County, SC. In 1981, he and his wife, Louise Barnes Rivers, left
Beaufort, SC to move to
Anderson, SC with four of their nine children. Not knowing anything about where they were going, the Rivers made Anderson their home for the rest of their lives. They were truly blessed by God in
Anderson, SC. They joined the Wilson Calvary Church family and began making Anderson their home. Deacon Rivers was a very hard worker and made many sacrifices for his family. He retired from American Rivets and Screws in

Deacon Rivers taught all of his children to have the highest respect for their mom. He also instilled in his children to have love for one another and if your brother or sister gets lost (in their ways in life), do your best to bring them back home.
