William Leschak Obituary

MgySgt William Leschak, 89, USMC, Retired, widower of Trudiann T. Leschak, of Beaufort, SC, peacefully died Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00am at St. James Orthodox Church in Beaufort, SC with interment to follow at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Leschak was born on November 28, 1935 in Albany, NY. He is the son of the late John Leschak and Mary Lukachica. Bill proudly served in the Marine Corps for 27 years (1955-1981). He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, was Airborne-qualified, and his last assignment was as the Headquarters Company Administrative Chief at Parris Island, SC. After retiring from the military, he worked as a registrar at Beaufort Technical College, followed by a position as the officer manager with local legal firm Griffith, Sadler & Sharp. Over the past four years he resided at The Retreat at Lady's Island where he frequently enjoyed dancing and socializing with other residents. Surviving are two sons, John Leschak and William Leschak, Jr.; one daughter, Pamela Leschak; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Semper Fi & America's Fund (https://thefund.org/donate/).
