Walter Wilson Obituary

Rev. Walter Randy Wilson, the beloved husband of Betty Jean Polson Wilson, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 8, 2019 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Rev. Wilson was born the son of Charlie Otto Wilson and Mary Jane Wilson on December 29, 1957 in Georgetown. He was an employee with Stones Construction. His greatest love and passion came in 1977 when he was gloriously saved at the Six Mile Crossing Church of God. In his earlier years of ministry, he sang throughout the state with "The New Revelators" which consisted of his brother, Gene Wilson; his sister, Dale Wade; and Barbara Wilson. Together they ministered and spread the gospel to those in need. A new life and journey began as he accepted the Ministerial calling and was ordained in 1992. Rev. Wilson started evangelizing at Grace Temple and would share the gospel throughout South Carolina. In 2017, Rev. Wilson became the full-time pastor of Grace Temple. His ministry would not only include sharing the gospel through music but now preaching and pastoring. He believed his ministry and life would only be pleasing unto God and effective in the lives of others if it were done in the demonstration and the power of the Holy Ghost.

Randy and Betty were married on June 12, 1976 and celebrated 42 years together. Their home was blessed with three children, Randall L. Wilson, Jessica W. (Edward "Bubba") and Brian K. Bourne; and six grandchildren, Randall "Wesley" Wilson, Sean Nicholas Wilson, Madelyn Eve Wilson, Chloe McKinley Adams, Kalli Brianna Bourne, and Erric Bourne. He also leaves behind: a sister, Dale (Will) Wade; and his four fur babies, Penny, June, Pup-pup, and Lizzy.

He was predeceased by: his parents; two brothers, Gene Wilson and Charles Wayne Wilson; and a sister, Betty Wilson.

A Home Going Celebration with Ministerial Recognition will be 3PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Six Mile Crossing Church of God. Internment will follow in the Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, March 11, 2019 in the sanctuary of Grace Temple Church, 1144 Georgetown Hwy, Georgetown, SC 29440.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilson Family.
