Vivian McCray Obituary
Funeral services were held 12 noon Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. John AME Church in the Morrisville Community of Andrews, under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Homes.
Mrs. McCray was born July 15, 1934 to the late Henry Davis and the late Mary McKnight Davis. She was educated in the Public Schools of Williamsburg and Georgetown Counties. Vivian was a faithful member of St. John AME Church. She was extremely active and loved her church family. Vivian was employed with Curry's Cleaners of Georgetown, where she was a seamstress.
On January 14, 1956, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Joseph McCray, Sr. This union was blessed with seven children.
Surviving are seven children, Wendell, Kirklen, Barney, Joseph, Jr., Sandy, Darwin and Sharon; twenty-four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bethel and Willie Davis; 2 sisters, Lee Ella Davis and Dorothy Rhea Davis, and many other relatives and friends.

Our sweet angel cousin Vivian! My deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of your sweet mother. I pray that God will give comfort you all through her loving memories. She was the best and I will always remember our talks when she would visit mom or I would bring mom to see her. She always talked about doing the work on Earth so that Heaven could be her home one day. Heaven has gained another angel. She will be missed dearly by the Wilson family.

You could not find a more humbling spirit than that of Sister Vivian. No flower to compare to the beautiful way she dressed and carried herself. She nurtured and took great care for her family like a mother hen wood her brood of chicks. Our love and prayers are with you all.
