Sara Zapata Obituary

Memorial service for Sara Zapata, age 66, of Mundelein, Illinois will be held at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church 1401 S. Lake Street Mundelein, Il on Friday October 3rd at 5:30 pm.


Sara passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. She was born on December 24, 1958, and lived a lie full of love, strength and devotion to God, family, and friends.


Sara was known for her generous heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering care for those around her. She found joy in life’s simple moments and treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.


She is survived by her loving husband Javier Zapata; children Joanna Aranda and Christina Sanchez: son-in-law Jose Santos Sanchez: her cherished grandchildren Brandon, josh, Natalie, Ethan, Summer, Alyssa, Victoria, Destiny, Adrianna, and Anthony; and her brother Enrique Torres. She will also be remembered dearly by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.


Sara was preceded in death by her parents Maria and Enrique Torres, her daughter Rita Zapata, and her brother Jose Manuel Torres.


Sara’s legacy of love, compassion and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
