Ruby Coleman Obituary

Ruby Norris Coleman, age 89, wife of 70 years to Maxcy Coleman, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at home in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Mrs. Coleman was born in Conway, South Carolina, a daughter of the late John William and Fannie Bertie Lewis Norris. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown, where she attended the Samaritan Sunday School Class. Mrs. Coleman was predeceased by her precious son, Jerry Coleman, and her eight siblings whom she loved dearly, John Norris, Mildred Suggs, Robert Norris, James Norris, Archie Norris, Edith Russell, Janie Martin, and Dock Norris.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her sister, Betty Causey (John) of Georgetown; special nephews, Rick Martin (Debbie), Patrick Causey (Gilda) and Rick Coleman (Wanda), all of Georgetown; and special nieces, Sharon Richardson (Eddie) of Murrells Inlet, Patty Cumbee (Larry) of Georgetown, and Carolyn Casey (Wade) of Alexandria, Virginia; a special sister-in-law, Estelle Norris (Sons, David and Steve) of Conway, South Carolina; and other numerous extended family.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 11, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Georgetown with Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating. A private burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Georgetown, prior to the service.
