I will always remember how kind you were in Italy. I learned how to drink gin & tonics because of you and the extreme heat that summer ! Our children got along great !

I had the good fortune to meet Roy at the Harbour Town Yacht Club several years ago and the pleasure of spending many fun-filled evenings with him (and his bottle of Bud) over that time. Smart, humorous, well-versed on a variety of topics, conversations with him were never dull. One of the most memorable qualities about Roy was his enthusiastic approach to everything. His endearing, mischievous smile offered a peek into the workings of a kind and gentle soul who adored his children and loved life fully. I will miss those energy charged discussions brimming over with laughter and humanity just as I will miss Roy himself. May God bless him and grant him eternal peace. My husband and I extend our sincerest condolences to Roy's family. Our hearts go out to you at this tragic time, along with the the hope that wonderful memories will soon replace your present sorrow.

We were next-door neighbors to Liz and Chick Hunter and Roy and Chip in late 70s on Queens Road West They were so welcoming and a lasting friendship occurred. We followed Roy & golf as we moved to Dallas and were aware of his success. Best to this great family, who made Charlotte such a memorable experience. BETTY WILSON

I´ll never forget meeting Roy on the beach at Debordieu and then seeing him frequently in his golf cart with Ollie. He was one of the kindest and most fun people to be around he just made me happy. Glad to have known him.

I am heartbroken to learn of Roy's passing! I met Roy when he was the teaching professional at DeBordieu. He was the best golf swing coach I ever had! I remember that one time I had swing plane problems and he had me with my back to the pin hitting balls in a "wood chopping" motion. I fondly remember going to a field in Tega Cay, SC with my mother (before I could drive) to take lessons from Roy when he was at Gaston CC. As accomplished of a competitive golfer and teaching professional as Roy was, he was an even better guy! I remember seeing him in a golf cart near the beach several years ago with his dog. We hadn't seen each other in years, but we picked up our conversation like old times. Like many I am honored to call Roy a friend. To Roy's kids, girlfriend and extended family I truly offer my sincerest condolences. When you feel sad, remember how engaging and vibrant Roy was. That is how I will remember my friend!

I am heartbroken to learn of Roy's passing! He was the best junior golf swing coach I ever had! I was also blessed to call him a friend. I remember in the 1990s I went to the beach with my mother to take a lesson from Roy. I had swing plane problems and Roy had me with my back to the hole hitting balls in a "wood chopping" motion. In addition to being a great competitive golfer and a great golf teacher, he was an even better guy! Roy was so delightful and engaging. I remember seeing him near the beach several years ago in a golf cart with his dog. Our conversation picked up as if we had never been separated, and we hadn't seen each other in many years! To Roy's kids, girlfriend and extended family, you truly have my most heartfelt condolences. Roy was simply a great guy, and I will truly miss my friend, as I know you will as well. When you feel sad, simply remember how full of life Roy was, and that is a memory that I am certain he would want you to recall when you think of him!

Prayers to the family. As a neighbor at Debordieu I enjoyed getting to know Roy and as a travel advisor working with him planning a trip with his daughter. Which he shared he would never forget.
