Rose Cook Obituary

Rose Marie Cook, 74, widow of William "Bill" Cook, Jr., died Thursday, October 30, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00am in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Rose was born on December 20, 1950 in Hampton, SC. She is the daughter of the late Hugh Gray and Rosa Smith Gray. After graduating high school, Rose began her remarkable career in banking where her integrity and leadership earned her admiration across the industry. Over the years, she rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Palmetto State Bank, a role that reflected not only her professional excellence but also her ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She was a mentor, a problem-solver, and an advocate for doing things the right way, even when it wasn't the easy way. She enjoyed visiting the mountains in Maggie Valley, attending her grandchildren's sporting/school events, and spending time with her beloved dog, Ralph, who rarely left her side. Though she has left this world, her strong, kind, and always honest voice will echo in the hearts of those who loved her. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and lived her truth - and the world is better for it. Surviving is one son, Benjamin "Benji" Cook (Angela); one brother, Jonathan H. Gray; five grandchildren, Ryan Cook, Lauryn Earley, Grayson Cook, Kevin Hartman and Lacy Cook, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill and a son, James Marc Cook. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice.
