Ronald Moultrie Obituary

Ronald James Moultrie died on January 27, 2020 in Georgetown, SC. Funeral services were held on February 4, 2020 at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Alphonso N. Scott, M. Div. pastor.

Mr. Moultrie was born September 17, 1952 in Georgetown, SC to Mr. Freddie Moultrie Sr. and Mrs. Lizzie Smalls Moultrie. He graduated from Howard High School in 1971. He later attended UNC Chapel Hill, NC and Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, NC. For over 20 years, until retiring in 2001, Mr. Moultrie worked as a correctional officer on Rikers Island, New York, NY. He was a lifelong member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Moultrie and Lafaye Nelson shared 28 years of love. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on November, 2016.

Surviving are his wife, Lafaye Nelson Moultrie, Georgetown, SC; his children, Ursula Moultrie Cook, Suitland, MD; Wilbur Gilliard, Jr., New York, NY, Nelda Murray, Severn, MD; his siblings, Claudia E. Moultrie, New York , NY, Sandy J. Moultrie, Lutz, FL and Herbert B. Moultrie, Mt. Vernon, NY. Services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
