I was in administration clerk for Colonel Larson in Okinawa for the 603 Massq from may have 1973 to November of 1975. I typed up his messages and letters for him. I got out of the Air Force in June of 1976 and I have wondered all these years where he was because I really admired him and had much respect for him. May he rest in peace!

I just ran across this a few minutes ago and it hurts my heart. I was stationed in Okinawa Japan under Colonel Larson's command. I was an admin clerk in his office and I would sign letters and stuff for him using a stamp which he trusted me with. In a lot of ways he reminded me of my father who is also a veteran from World war II serving in the Marine corps. I left working hours November of 1975 and I still think of my time there and the people I worked with may he rest in peace he will be in my prayers tonight.

Dick Larsen was the Deputy Commander for Maintenance when I was a 1st Lieutenant at Charleston. He always had a smile, let you do your job, and was not the gruff overbearing individual that was common at that time. He also would amuse us with his fantastic magic."Pulling chocks on Maintenance 1".
