Rachel Jacobs Obituary

Rachel Thompson Casselman Jacobs, 62, the widow of Herbert Teal Jacobs, went home to be with Lord, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Royal Oaks Assisted Living, Summerville, SC.

Mrs. Jacobs was born the daughter of Marion Ray "Junior" Casselman and Martha Vermell McCutcheon Casselman-Bruce on December 31, 1953 in Andrews. She was a part of the Piney Forest Baptist Church family since childhood. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Though words could never fully describe all her life, she committed her life to acts of selfless giving and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished titles - Beloved Mother and Cherished Friend.

Herbert and Rachel were married on in Georgetown and celebrated many years together. Their home was blessed with seven children: Jake Jacobs, Bonnie Woodruff, Jamie Powell, Edward Thompson, Larry Jacobs, Teal (Sterling) Jacobs, and Joshua (Jillian) Jacobs; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves behind: four sisters, Mary Carolyn Dukes, Janice Flynn, Marion White, and Melissa Woodruff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; a sister, Kathy Morris.

A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Piney Forest Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Piney Forest Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

The Jacobs family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:30PM in the church sanctuary.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jacobs family.
