Nancy Welch Obituary

Nancy Sue Holshouser Welch, 82, wife of Francis Oneal Welch passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Graham Funeral Home Chapel at 1PM.

Born on November 12, 1936 in Rockwell, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Luther Holshouser and Glenna Lentz Holshouser.

Mrs. Welch was of Lutheran faith and played the organ and piano at Wayne Methodist Church. She was a music major at Lenoir-Rhyne College and was named Miss Lenoir-Rhyne while she was there. She taught piano lessons and retired from Waccamaw Elementary in Conway. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 25 years, are two daughters, Carla Tharpe of Myrtle Beach and Juliana R. Gregory (William) of Georgetown; three stepchildren, Terry Welch (Susan) of Johnsonville, Al Welch of Florence, and Michelle Strickler of Columbia; three grandsons, Craig Burton of Tennessee, Kyle Burton of Myrtle Beach, and William Gregory, Jr. of Georgetown; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Thomes (Joe) and Patsy Beliveau (George) all of North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Holshouser.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Embrace Hospice of Myrtle Beach at 175 Village Center Boulevard Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
