MAGGIE BROWN Obituary

Ms. Maggie Brown, 99, died on August 18, 2017 at Prince George Nursing Center, Georgetown, SC. Funeral services were held August 25, 2017 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Betty Deas Clark, pastor.

Ms. Brown, was born on March 22, 1918, in Sutton, SC, to the marital union between Mr. Ben Brown and Mrs. Mary Henryhand Brown. She attended Williamsburg County Schools. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, and was baptized at St. John A.M.E. Church, Trio, SC. In the 1950's, Ms. Brown joined Bethel A.M.E. Church. She was a hard worker and had been employed in many capacities during her life including a saw mill in Andrews, SC, the cafeteria of International Paper Corporation, and as a private housekeeper in several Georgetown area homes. In 2013, Maggie's devoted nieces, Rosa Lee Evans and Johnnie Mae Pinckney, became her caregivers when her health began to decline.

Surviving are her sisters, Carrie Medley, Baltimore, MD, and Castlia Frazier, Bronx, NY; two nieces whom she considered as sisters, Rosa Lee Evans, Georgetown, SC, Betty Tisdale of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
