Louise Linen Obituary

Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mrs. Louise Holmes Linen, age 89, of 65 Hunter Lane in Georgetown, who died on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Linen was the daughter of the late Zack Holmes and the late Rosa Holmes, both of the Dunbar community and was the wife of the late Abraham Linen of the Dunbar community. Mrs. Linen is preceded in death by both parents, husband and two sisters, the late Catherine Rice and the late Earline Ricardo; one brother Leroy Holmes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linen will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Dunbar community of Georgetown with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Gamble Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. A viewing will be held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel St. in Georgetown.

Mrs. Linen is survived by her loving family: four daughters, Ellen Elder, Mary A. Linen both of Hamden, CT, Flora Ray of Middletown, NY and Deloris Linen of West Haven, CT; four sons, Edward Linen of Georgetown, Moddie Linen of the Dunbar community of Georgetown, Roger Linen of Bronx, NY and Lloyd Linen of Meridian, CT; two sisters, Mary E. Rice of the Dunbar community of Georgetown, and Ada Fordham of Georgetown; one brother, Gussie Holmes of the Dunbar community of Georgetown; a host of loving grandchildren; great grands; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
