Louis Morrison Obituary

Louis Markley "Bubby" Morrison, age 79, of McClellanville, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his residence. A lifelong resident of McClellanville, he was the son of the late Mr. Eugene B. Morrison and the late Mrs. Ruth Jennings Morrison. Along with his parents, Mr. Morrison was also preceded in death by a brother, Mead (& Helga) Morrison. Mr. Morrison was a Commercial Fisherman in the Cape Romain area. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy, where he served 2 years aboard the USS Salem in the Mediterranean, and 6 years in the Navy Reserves. As a young man, Mr. Morrison served as a volunteer firefighter. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed nature, and he loved spending time with family and friends. Mr. Morrison was a member of the New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. He also enjoyed serving with the East Cooper Outreach Food Program for the Elderly.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Helen A. Morrison of McClellanville ; 2 Daughters, Penny (& Donnie) Bruns of James Island, SC and Nickie (& Terry) McKnight of McClellanville ; 2 Grandchildren, MSGT. Benjamin Louis (& Kelly) Ackerman, USAF, of Montgomery, AL and Tyler E. Ellis of McClellanville ; 2 Great Grandchildren, Haley & John Ackerman of Montgomery, AL ; 5 Grandchildren by marriage, Shane (& Ginger) Bruns, Jamie (& Crystal) Bruns, Aaron (& Michelle) McKnight, Jarad (& Ciera) McKnight, and Katie (& Kyle) Hara ; 11 Great Grandchildren by marriage ; 3 Brothers, Eugene B. (& Nancy) Morrison, Steve B. (& Teenie) Morrison, and Bobby (& Bonnie) Morrison ; 3 Sisters, Joyce M. (& William) Bradshaw, Dianne M. (& Sylvan) Racine, & Gwen Brewer ; and Several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service for Louis Morrison will be conducted Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00pm in the New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after the service.
