Lee Emma Belin Hughie died on April 28, 2020 in Georgetown, SC. Funeral services were held on May 3, 2020 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel conducted by Dr. Sandy Drayton, Presiding Elder, Seventh District A.M.E.

Mrs. Hughie was born on August 1, 1949 in Georgetown, SC, to Rev. Coley Belin and Mrs. Bertha Rice Belin. In early youth, she attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Oatland. Lee Emma graduated from Choppee High School in 1968. She later furthered her education in Florence, SC, where she earned a Certified Nursing Assistant degree (CNA). For over thirty years, Lee Emma was employed as a dedicated nursing care provider with Winyah Convalescent Center of Georgetown. On December 18, 1969, Lee Emma married the love of her life, Rev. Frank Hughie, Sr. Together they were blessed with three children. She became a faithful member of Friendship St. Mary A.M.E. Church, and was the First Lady of her husband while he pastored churches throughout the A.M.E. Seventh District. She was also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Frank Hughie, Sr., of Georgetown, SC; her daughters, Vanessa Hughie Graham (Vince), and Andrea April Hughie, all Georgetown, SC; four grandchildren; her sisters, Rebecca Williams (Hezekiah), Pearline Sabb, Linda Jones (Ervin), and Mozenia Rhems, all of Georgetown, SC. Services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
