Lawrence Keith Obituary

Lawrence Keith, Sr., 92, died on August 31, 2016 at Prince George Nursing Facility, Georgetown, South Carolina. Funeral service were held on September 6, 2016 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, in the Plantersville community of Georgetown, conducted by Reverend John Sumpter, pastor.

Mr. Keith was born on February 29, 1924 in Georgetown County, SC, a son of Walter Keith and Hettie Addison Keith. His secular education was received in the public schools of Georgetown County. For forty-five years until retirement, he worked in various departments of International Paper Corporation. On January 12, 1947, Mr. Keith was united in holy matrimony to the former Ms. Frances Wearing. Together, they were blessed with two children. At an early age, he was an active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he served on the Trustee Board until his health failed. He was also an active member of Masonic Lodge #407.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Frances Keith, Georgetown, SC; his children, Lee Ethel Ford, and Lawrence Keith, Jr., both of Georgetown, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
