L.M. Leland Obituary

L.M. Leland Jr., 84, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born April 1, 1931 in Georgetown, Mr. Leland was a son of the late Legare Morrison Leland Sr. and Bonnie Dale Collins Leland.

He was a devoted member of Screven Baptist Church and a former Deacon of the church. Mr. Leland served in the S.C. National Guard. He was retired from International Paper after 43 years of service in the laboratory. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and hunting and loved his friends like family.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11am at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6-8pm.

Surviving are, his wife of 59 years, Jackie Altman Leland; a daughter, Wanda L. Wilson of Georgetown; a son, Thomas Legare Leland (Roxanne) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Adam L. Moore, Nicole A. Burruss, and Jared F. Wilson; three great grandsons; two brothers, Richard G. Leland of Georgetown and Joseph Leland of Beaufort; and his best friend Stanley Wilson of Georgetown.
