James Gilleece Obituary

James (Jimmy) was born on December 9, 1959, in Jacksonville, NC, to the late James Patrick Gilleece and the late Velma Jean Gilleece. He also was preceded in death by his brother, John Gilleece.

He is survived by his siblings: Joseph Gilleece (Kathy), Dawn Richard (Richard Rickabaugh), Gary Gilleece (Bill Holder), two nephews, David and Alex Richard, and his fiancée, Cathy Reese.

Jimmy was a loving brother and friend with a heart of gold who would do anything to help those in need. He was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and loved the Lord with all his heart. He had a servant's heart and was always willing to help others, often placing their needs before his own. He enjoyed playing golf, working out at the gym, and had a deep affection for his dogs, Sadie and Sugar. A passionate fan of South Carolina Gamecocks sports, he found joy in following his favorite team. He was employed with Parker Hannifin until his retirement in April 2025.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Graveside service arrangements at the Beaufort National Cemetery are currently pending. Details will be announced once plans are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
