Jack Scoville Obituary

Jack Miller Scoville, III, died peacefully at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston Saturday night. Miller was born in Georgetown on December 2, 1978. He graduated from Georgetown High and attended the College of Charleston for two years. Miller was an artist and a faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. Born with a serious and complex heart condition, he underwent numerous surgeries and procedures at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and at MUSC but ultimately his heart simply could not sustain him.

Miller is survived by: his parents, Jack and Lindsay Scoville of Georgetown, his grandmother, Ellen Verner Scoville of Columbia, his brother, Sam (Vivianna) of Beaufort, S.C., his sister, Makemie of Asheville, N.C., his nephew and niece, Miguel and Sophie Scoville of Beaufort, his aunt, Lucy Scoville of Columbia, and special friends, Thorny Saussy, Mary Small, and Ruth Wineglass of Georgetown.

The family would like to especially thank the medical staffs at MUSC and at Georgetown Memorial who besides treating Miller with upmost professionalism, also showed him great love and affection at all times.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held eleven o'clock Friday morning, April 21, 2017, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be Father Richard Wilson. A Repast will follow in the church Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the MUSC Pediatric Cardiology Department or the American Heart Association.

Mayer Funeral Home is in charge.
