Isadora Singleton Obituary

Isadora Mazyck Singleton, 82, died on April 23, 2018 at Grand Strand Medical Center. Funeral services were held on April 28, 2018 at Greater Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church, Rev. Aundry N. Evans, Sr., pastor.

Mrs. Singleton was born on September 21, 1935 in Murrells Inlet, SC, to Mr. Abraham Mazyck, Sr. and Mrs. Rebecca McCoy Mazyck. She was later reared by her step-mother, Mrs. Rachel Mazyck. The oldest of fourteen children, she attended the public schools of Georgetown County until circumstances required that she stop to help raise her siblings. Mrs. Singleton was a life-long member of Greater Gordon Chapel Church, where she was member of the Women's Missionary Society, Women's Circle, and the Stewardess Board.On August 31, 1953, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. John Singleton, Jr. Their union was blessed with four children. A daughter, Myrtle Singleton, preceded her mother in death.

Surviving are her husband, John Singleton, Jr., Murrells Inlet, SC; her children, Patricia Singleton-Young, Murrells Inlet, SC, Bettye Phillips, Bardstown, KY, and Jerome Singleton, Georgetown, SC; her siblings, Jack Mazyck, Florence, SC, Lula Washington, Jacksonville, NC, Teresa Dease, Pawleys Island, SC, Ben Mazyck, Washington, DC, Isaac Mazyck, Woodbridge, VA, Thelma Brown, Baltimore, MD, Mattie Alston and Joann Gary, Murrells Inlet, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
