Helen Giles Obituary

Helen Moultrie Giles, died on April 27, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Betty Deas Clark, Worship Leader.

Mrs. Giles, affectionately known as "Berta" was born on March 15, 1928 in Georgetown, South Carolina to Mr. Daniel Moultrie and Mrs.Phyllis Giles Moultrie. She attended Georgetown public schools. Early in life, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully as a deaconess and many other positions until poor health intervened. On October 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Mr. Harold Giles. Together, they lovingly reared eight children. Her husband and one daughter, Rosylin Johnson, preceded her in death.She worked several capacities throughout her life, but most importantly, she was a devoted wife and mother.

Surviving are her children, Deloris Snow, Georgetown, SC, Mary Majors, Atlanta GA, Edith Pulley, Rochester NY, Betty Giles, Samuel Giles, New York NY, Helen Moe, Richard, VA, Harold Giles, Las Vegas, NV; her siblings, Maggie Gathers, Baltimore, MD, Herbert Moultrie, New York, NY. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

My life (Arthur) has been personally changed for the better because of Helen Giles, and her family over the years.
