Glennie Sargeant Obituary

Glennie Sargeant, died on September 11, 2018 in Georgetown, SC. Funeral services were held on September 21, 2018 at Arnett A.M.E. Church conducted by Rev. Winston T. Jones, pastor.

Mr. Sargeant was born on June 16, 1954 in Georgetown, SC, a son of Mr. Joshua Sargeant, Sr. and Mrs. Sarah Bell Washington Sargeant. "Jap" as he was fondly called, attended public schools of Georgetown County. For six years, he served his country in the United States Army and earned an honorable discharge. He later earned certification in welding from Horry-Georgetown Technical College. In February of 1981 Mr. Sargeant was united in holy matrimony to the former Miss Eartha Brown. This union was blessed with the births of two children and included the rearing of Brian Brown as one as their own. For many years he was employed with Larry Young's Construction. Later, having become self-employed, he worked at his own company, Sargeant and Sons. After the onset of poor health, he retired.

Surviving are his wife, Eartha Sargeant of Georgetown, SC; his children, Osha Branton, Glennie Sargeant, Jr. and Brian Brown, all of Georgetown, SC; his mother, Sarah Bell Washington, Georgetown, SC; his siblings, Joshua Sargeant, Jr., Newton, NJ, Charles Sargeant, Belinda Sargeant-Green, Georgetown, SC and Freda Sargeant-Pearlman of Port Lucia, FL. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
