George Cremer Obituary

George Sibley Cremer ll passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 5, 2017. Born in Huntington, New York on June 3, 1928, he was the son of James Mortimer Cremer and Mary Elizabeth Ost Clouston Cremer of East Northport, New York. He loved playing baseball. He was a catcher for the Long Island Invaders baseball team, a farm team for the Philadelphia Phillies. After marrying, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then returned to New York to have a family. He was a plumber by trade. He was also a volunteer fireman with East Northport Fire Department. The family left New York and pursued a dream of owning several motels in the south. He then owned and operated Cremer Enterprises, Inc. which was a plumbing business. The family then moved to Andrews, South Carolina for George's employment as a Foreman at International Paper Sampit Lumber Division. Under his supervision, the planer mill was the 3rd largest producer of 2x4's in the world. After retiring, George and his wife decided to move near Clemson, South Carolina to be closer to their children. After his wife retired, they moved to Weeki Wachee, Florida in 1999 and have been residents ever since.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Elaine H. Cremer; children, Deborah C. Spitzer (Bob) of Sanford, FL; George Sibley Cremer lll (Debby) of Williamston, SC; Barbara C. Young (Michael) of Andrews, SC; Lynn C.
